Check that the COA references the exact lot number printed on your vial, names the independent testing laboratory, and reports both HPLC purity (≥99%) and a mass-spectrometry identity match against the calculated molecular weight. A generic or undated COA that is not lot-specific should not be accepted as batch verification.

What does HPLC purity testing measure?

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography separates the components of a peptide sample and quantifies each peak. The purity percentage on a COA is the area of the target-peptide peak as a fraction of all detected peaks — measuring how much of the sample is the intended sequence versus truncated peptides, deletion sequences, or synthesis byproducts.

What is mass spectrometry identity confirmation?

Mass spectrometry (typically LC-MS with electrospray ionization) measures the molecular weight of the peptide in the vial. Identity is confirmed when the observed mass matches the theoretical molecular weight calculated from the peptide's amino-acid sequence. Purity without identity confirmation is not sufficient — both tests are required to verify a batch.

How are research peptides shipped and stored?

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides ship in sealed glass vials with temperature-controlled domestic delivery in 2–4 business days. Unopened lyophilized vials are stored refrigerated (2–8 °C) or frozen (−20 °C) for long-term storage.
